I know the Gordon clone wasn't successful. Any date when it will be tried again?

No date set yet, I plan to re-do it again at some point this winter. When I do, I'll bring it back to the show.

I thought the Gordon clone attempt was actually prefered to the real Gordon. Nathan, is there any advantage to re-brewing this one? Wouldn't it produce a less-desirable product?

Mad,
A re-brew wouldn't necessarily less desirable, but a little bit smaller in OG (1/2 to 1 plato lower) would put the beer closer in line with what's produced commercially. Minimal difference, but it could be fun to re-do some day, once other CYBI re-brews or new beers have been covered.
