My hops exhibit 2 of the 3 traits that mean they may be ready to harvest. I have a whole bunch of cascade that look pretty ready to go; they are papery, they smush, but they dont smell of anything. Are they ready for harvest or should I wait a week or two yet to make the most out of my first hop crop? Any input would be appreciated much.

This is a picture I took yesterday, still no smell but I can see the yellow pollen. Ready or giver a while?

I'm going with "not ready". I leave my hops on the vine until they just start to dry on their own.

Tonight I just harvested about 7.5 ounces of first year cascades that were just as Hoprunner described. Looking forward to tossing them into a brew tomorrow.
