Has anyone used Briess 2 row?

Sat Apr 06, 2013 8:25 am

I'm brewing right now, and I've only ever used Great Western and Rahr 2-row. I've only got 8 pounds of GW 2-row. I still need another 5 lbs of base malt. My LBHS only carries Briess. Is that stuff any good? I kind of see Briess as the Plymouth Prowler of malt, but I could be totally wrong.

I use it all of the time. I prefer Rahr, but it's fine.

Yeah, I have used it multiple times, It has made some good beer. Great Western is sold at my local, and have always had great results with it.
Bottled: fresh hop pale ale
On tap: Moose bile strong ale
In the cellar: Taqu'il's Fat Black Imperial Stout
Lagering:
In the fermenter: Moose drool clone
In the works: Taqu'il's Fat Black Imperial stout

Great to hear. I'll definitely use Briess in a pinch. Today, I flew by the seat of my :nutters: and went with the British 2-Row.

Briess 2 row is a great base malt that is pretty cheap by the sack at my LHBS. It is clean, crisp and quickly converts.

I've only used Briess 2 Row for domestic 2 row. Would like to try some of the others at some point, but been happy with it so far.
