Blowoff tube

Got a Belgian in primary with a blowoff tube because in my last experience with a Belgian dubbel, my carpet needed cleaning. Anyway. I filled a jug with water/starsan and she's a bubbling away. My question here is, do I need to change the water in the jug at all during the fermentation?
I saw a video on the net where a guy found a fly floating in the jug where the blowoff tube was.

If you're using Star San you should be fine. You should be fine with just water too...

I always go the blowoff tube route after an accident too... but I take the tube off and put my airlock on after 2-3 days once the vigorous fermentation is finished.

For my big bore blow off tube I pull my bottle brush through it with a piece of string. I tie a weight to the end of the string so I can drop it through the tube.
