well I made 2 1500ml starters last night and added 1 drop of olive oil to 1 of them just to see if I see any difference. There is definitely a difference so far after 18 hours this is what they look like, the olive oil was added to the one on the right.

thats pretty sweet, now i wonder what it will have the effect on beer.
I'm assuming your referring this back to the brewery using little bit of olive oil in they're batch. If i remember right, someone on the BN corps of engineers calculated it out as barely covering a needle tip not a whole drop. But it seems to have done something.

are you sure it is not because of the foil being way tighter on the one on the right the one on the left looks like it exchanges gas better

hmmmmm, I guess I will have to switch the 2 flasks next time and see what happens then.

I remember that it was something like the needle thing but hey it was late, a few beers and a drop sounded like a good idea.

Thats a trip! If repeated experiments prove the same I might give it a try.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who wanted to try that. I'm definitely giving that a try this spring.

Nice work, I have also wanted to try this but never have. Let us know how it pans out in the final beer.
