Lager starter question

I am about to do my first lager, JZ's munich helles with the bock yeast. I have two vials that are very new. With all of the numbers punched into his yeast calc, it says I need 2.36 liters of starter wort. Should I pitch both vials straight into the full volume of 2.3 L, or should i pitch them into 1.15 L, let them finish, then decant and add in the other 1.15 L? Thanks.

I would pitch them both in to save yourself some trouble. Both ways you have descirbed would work equally well but keep it simple and less risk for contamination and pitch them both into the full volume.

The calculator is designed so you don't have to step up the starter, so put the 2 vials into the 2.3 L.
