Interesting... I always thought it would go at the neck, but when you think about it, that makes alot more sense. Thanks for the heads up Push!

Ok so a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Looks like the Carboy had a kiss on the rim to me. I know a booze bottle is not a 5 gallon carboy but how many have had one break on the way out the store when grabbing it by the neck on the way to the car?

And how many water delivery men can attest to bottles breaking like that? Or bottled water users that loaded there dispensers?

In todays lawyer driven society do you think they could sell carboy handles if they hurt people, or even dumped wort all over the place?

Never have heard any caution from my store. They do know about making sure holes are in the rim of kegs used to cook in.

Yeah, I heard about stuff like that. That is way too much glass to be even remotely safe. Picking up the carboy by the weakest point, sounds like a good idea right???

Brew hauler it is. Thanks for the advice.

One a not so side note I had a box of around 20 empty bottles on my counter last saturday (I thought they were fine and placed securely), 10 seconds later and it started. They fell and broke for about 10 seconds straight, bouncing around over and over. It was insanely loud. Even though I was watching it, It took be about 3 seconds to realize that I really, really did something stupid, then the rest of the time was spent cursing and cringing.
