yeah I know that would be great but my ''beer fridge'' always has 60+ beer bottles in it and I try to keep it that way.

I meant buy another one. I think they are somewhat easier to find.

I think the chest freezer is the way to go. More useable space for fermentors and kegs than a fridge.

Craigslist is a great place to find used chest freezers at a good price.

With an external controller, you can hold any temp from below freezing to above 80F.

here's a question, I just got a chest freezer and will be starting to lager. With the difference between primary fermentation temp and lagering temp how would you go about using it for more than one brew. as i see it, if there's one in there lagering it's probably a bad idea to change the temp up so another can primary. thoughts?....

That must be heavy lowering the fermentors into the chest freezer. I hope their not glass fermentors. It would suck bending over to put the thing in and have it shatter in your face.

I'm currently looking for an option to make lowering the carboy into a relatively small freezer for fermentation.

Lots of places sell carboy straps/bags/coozies that would help lowering it in. I just need to decide if I want to spend $12 or $45.

Don't get anything that is attached to the neck. Those are meant only to carry the carboys empty, not support the entire weight.

Get the biggest chest freezer you can afford/fit. You will eventually use the space.
