This is what I'm going to try: Cedex cell counter

I can bring a little starter to work. Only need 200 uL.

what, you don't have a flow cytometer?

We have rooms full of them. The Cedex takes less than a minute and doesn't need to be calibrated.

Looks like I'll be counting a lot of pennies before I'll be counting cells... The microscope suddenly became the least expensive piece of equipment. Anyone with anything to say about the cell counting kit White Labs sells? If I buy that, will I be needing anything else except the actual microscope?

Dr. White had them for us to use at the Siebel Advanced Homebrewers course this summer. If I remember correctly, they had all you would need - hemocytometer, pipettes/test tubes for dilution, methylene blue, etc.
