refractometer 6 brix, hydrometer 1.008?

my FG on my lefty blond, reads 6 brix(1.024?) and 1.008 on hydro. i want to believe hydro. OG was 1.056, little low, but fermented clean, lots of yeast, proper temps. added cane sugar on 3rd day of ferment. just kegged today, doesnt taste sweet. why are my readings so different?

Ya can't use a refractometer to diectly measure FG due to the alcohol. I think B3 has a web form to convert given OG and final refractometer reading. I did the same thing, "Wholly Shnikies - that's too high!".

Well, with the calculations, his beer is now 1.004.... I'd try that refractometer again. Sometimes you get some suspended yeast or bubbles that make the line a little fuzzy and hard to read. If it 6.6 then it's right. Other than that - check it's calibration.
