Clear Bottles & Light Sensitivity

Sun Aug 15, 2010 7:25 am

I started my first cyser yesterday (recipe & process @ http://morebeer.ning.com/profiles/blogs/my-1st-cyser) and it's just fermenting in the clear 1 gallon jug in which the cider came. I am aware that beers and braggots are sensitive to light, but does it matter for a mead and/or cider?

Danke.

Probably not as sensitive as beer. It's the alpha acids from the hops that take the hit. That being said, most food products like to live in dark, cool places... like JP.
