finally brave enough... or desperate enough... to post

Thu Sep 10, 2015 10:06 pm

Hi Everyone,

My name is Johnny and I have been listening since about January of this past year. In addition to keeping up with the live shows, I have been listening to the archives of the session and am currently approaching the second anniversary show.

I fell into home brewing with a Mr. Beer kit for my 21st birthday and love everything about it. I finally decided that I would like to be more active participant in this awesome and hilarious community. If anyone has any suggestions on how to do this, I would love to hear it. I have been brewing for about a year so am a rookie and am having a great time.

I live in Southern California and just receive a B3 all grain cooler system for my 22nd birthday that I am very excited to use.

Feel free to say hey, I am looking forward to all of this.

Johnny

Welcome to the forum! Sometimes desperation brings out our braveness...

Very cool to hear that you have a new cooler ready to mash into. Once you get your first all-grain batch under your belt you will never look back. Don't be afraid to ask any and all questions you may have. There are lots of knowledgeable brewers here who are passionate about brewing and all of its glorious techniques.

Now go fill up that cooler with some grains and water and get to brewin!!

Cheers-

Welcome. Lots of us (me included) started with a Mr. Beer kit.
Ask away. We'll answer anything and everything you need to know about brewing.
Just remember that you only need to ask about diacetyl rests once.

I think it is where you drink a buttery beer and go take a nap after.
