I live in the holy land of weird laws and very limited beer selection. Beer from grocery stores or on-tap is limited to 4.0% ABV. Anything higher than that must be bottled and purchased from a State (Church) owned Liquor Store that is "sin" taxed and stored at room temperature. Breweries that want to sell their high gravity beers from the brewery must sell them to the State and buy them back. There are many more strange laws here...

Luckily, I have Wyoming or Nevada that are only 1-1.5 hours away to keep my fridge stocked. Being a beer enthusiast in Utah, becoming a homebrewer was the best idea yet. I've been brewing for 6.5 years now and listening to The Session for a couple years. I'm an all-grain brewer and I grow my own hops. Other than that, I'm a restauranteur, skier, musician and car enthusiast.

My basement flooded earlier this year, but I planned on remodeling anyway so I could go electric on my brew system. To add to that, the flood was cause by plumbing that had been capped off and hidden in the wall where a sink had been 30 years before. Now that sink is back in the form of stainless steel.

And remodel progress... Still much more to do!

Welcome aboard! You will fit in just fine here providing you keep the abv% of your home-brews to under 4.0....

Thanks! I don't think I've made a homebrew under 6%...
