BNA4 Details (in case you didn't see the other thread)

Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:02 pm

This was posted under Beer Events thread so some may seem slightly out of context, but it contains all the lowdown for BNA4:

I can clear up a few things that I thought had been covered on the show, but I could have been under the influence. It has happened.

Safety...pffft....don't worry. I never saw a group so afraid of black people. Except the Schuman's, but that was an incident with Terrence The Black and it's fully justified. Don't ask.

Marriott...fully safe, BART steps away (also fully safe). Seriously, not a worry to be had there.

Linden St.... Fully safe. There have been several events such as this one held there without a problem. It's a great redeveloped neighborhood, and I've even considered moving to the great lofts they have in the area. But alas, my heart is in Pacheco (as well as my tiny wallet)

West Oakland BART and walk to Linden St. - Here is the only leg that I worry about. I do not recommend walking from the Marriott or West Oakland BART to the party. Both would probably be entirely safe, but I just can't say I would do it myself, so don't recommend it. There is NO transportation provided TO the party from these locations. So I recommend taxi's. It will be a very cheap fair from either location and well worth the money.

If there is a group of you, I would totally walk from West Oakland BART, but not alone. From the Marriott, I'm just too lazy to walk that.

Going home from party, transportation will be provided via shuttle service to West Oakland BART, and taxi's. There is a possibility that there will be a double decker party bus around that may shuttle us back to Marriott as well. That would be sweet, but it's a West Oakland locals thing and I've not gotten confirmation it will be there.

Prices for the party:

$20 (CASH ONLY) gets you a commemorative BNA4 glass (they are sweet) and all the beer you can responsibly drink, including beer from:
21A
Marin Brewing Co.
Stone
Drake's
Triple Rock
Schooners
Ale Industries
The Bruery
Firestone
Lagunitas
Linden Street
and more....

plus homebrew from:
Tasty
Shat
J (yikes)
Doc
Beevo (what?)
Nathan Smith
Mike Mraz
and more...

$14 (CASH ONLY) gets you Tri-tip and Brat bbq dinner with sides from Emergency BBQ Catering (um...they f'ing rock, be ready for great food)

BNA4 commemorative shirts will also be on hand for $15 bones (CASH ONLY).

And that is the low down and dirty. Come one, come all, and bring friends. We expect a blowout and I wanna see my peeps there. We've made quite an effort this year to show you all a good time and we never disappoint. This is really your party as listeners, not ours.

word.

Sounds like this will be great, wish I was going.

What's the glassware like and will it be in the BN store?

Anybody want to cab-pool from the Marriott? Or maybe meet a Pacific Coast Brewing (about a block from the Marriott) for a few pre-pints first then cab-pool? :aaron

Important question: I know the usual radio show won't happen, but will there be live video? Will John Foster help us BN Army soldiers who couldn't make it out to the Bay Area this year?

I made sure I got back from my Ohio trip in time so I could celebrate vicariously through the internet. I flew in and out of Pensacola specifically, so I could pick up some bombers of premium craft beer for this.

Please, Professor Foster. I promise I'll donate another $10 to www.beerschool.com if you do this!
