I understand where snowcapt is coming from. It is so disturbing to me why someone his age could do this. At 20 years old the world is waiting for you. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I understand, too.

I spent some time in the chat room with Meister over the course of a year or so. I'm heartbroken about the whole thing. Maybe it's because a high school friend died recently and I'm still trying to deal with that. But I saw a bright shiny future for Meister.

I recently looked through my journals from my 20s, and I was an Emo mudderphaqr. I laughed at my 20 year old self. Now I'm not laughing.

Never talked with the guy, he'd kind of become less active when I was getting into the BN. By all accounts a good dude. Nothing we can do anymore for him, but helping his family would be :bnarmy:

Wow. Such a loss. I really enjoyed his posts and the few times I made it to the chat, he was always quite friendly and funny. Will be missed.

I might've been one of the only BN'ers to ever meet him, granted it was only once that I remember but the one time I did meet him he said we chatted at the LHBS before then... Anyway he was from a very well to do area south of Nashville called Brentwood. The time I do remember meeting him was at a brew club meeting. His mom actually drove him to the meeting and he brought a beer he had brewed himself. I remember him telling me his mom had taken him to the LHBS and bought him one of the Brewers Best kits to start off with. I don't remember the beer being bad, he was a pretty smart guy even at his age so I;m sure he followed the instructions and did everything right.
Well sadly even though his beer was good, we couldn't accept his membership into the HBC due to his age. I remember hearing that shortly after that he sent a handwritten note thanking the club for being nice and giving him some good advice. I never saw the note, but thats what I was told.
I never saw him again, although I heard he had continued to brew at home. A couple of years ago when he started in the BN and on the More Beer forums I chatted with him once again and he had moved to Kentucky to live with his dad. Good kid, that by all accounts had a good path picked out before something de-railed him.
