I quit this last January (posted in that other thread, and it actually helped that I knew a couple of BNers were going through the same thing.)
I'd like to recommend a method I call baked turkey. Buy a big-ass bag of really good cousin. Seriously, spare no expense. For three days, substitute cousin for cigarettes. After three days, the worst of the withdrawals are over, and you just kinda put the cousin down (it's a lot easier than putting down smokes for me.) I tried everything, but for some reason the cousin worked for me. I know it sounds stupid, but eight months later almost, and I haven't had a craving.
I'm with whoever said "I used to smell like that?" That helps. As well as just deciding "I am not a smoker anymore."
Crack may also help, though I have done no research to that effect.
