How do I post a file like an MP3?

I know how to post a pic, but how about a file? I don't have a web page or anything and was wopndering if there was some other way to post songs or sounds. If not I understand because of the whole virus thing, but I had to ask.

Look for a free hosting service and upload it. Post the link in a message. No different than a picture.
